Plan each destination and product form

A Bangladesh fruit importer can reduce avoidable clearance delays by linking four records before shipment: the import permit, phytosanitary certificate, commercial invoice and packing list. Bangladesh Customs says the Plant Quarantine Wing issues the permit before import and may issue a release order after examination.

Build the import and shipment file

Use the permit to verify the commodity, origin, entry point, treatment and any additional declarations. Then compare supplier documents against it. Keep a single lot reference on the sample approval, carton labels and receiving report so the buyer can trace each case.

Confirm the commercial order

The importer should confirm current conditions for every product rather than reusing another fruit’s permit. Bangladesh Customs plant-product clearance

Create a document checklist with fields for permit number, exporter certificate number, invoice, packing list, entry notice, lot code and release status. Assign a person to reconcile the case count after any inspection. A single missing field is easier to resolve before arrival than after the cargo is held.
