Plan each destination and product form

Use a pre-order worksheet for Indian fruit procurement. First record fruit and cultivar, country of origin, fresh or processed form, entry point, intended customer and estimated quantity. Then use India’s Plant Quarantine Management System to check the permit route for that exact product; do not treat a different origin’s approval as equivalent.

Build the import and shipment file

Request a supplier quote with specification, packing, shipment window and proposed trade term. Compare landed cost after clearance, inspection, inland delivery and likely sorting losses. Ask the broker to review draft certificates before loading.

Confirm the commercial order

For a trial, pre-agree a sample and arrival-inspection method. Keep the importer’s permit, shipment documents and receiving report under one order reference. India PQMS

For each SKU, assign an owner for permit verification, document review, shipment booking and arrival inspection. Keep a shared order checklist with deadlines so a permit is not left until the fruit is packed. Compare the supplier quote only after the importer confirms the plant-health route and the named entry point.
