Pink Pomelo Packing and Arrival Inspection Checklist
Connect a pink pomelo packing specification with a practical receiving record. Check carton condition, product identity, weight and cut samples while preserving lot evidence.
Pink pomelo packing should protect the agreed fruit and support a receiving check that both parties understand. A carton photograph alone cannot show how the pack performs during a journey. Connect the packaging description, lot identification and arrival records before dispatch.
Agree the pack and inspection sequence
Request the carton dimensions, intended fruit count, net weight and description of any liners or individual protection. Review how the pack will be stacked and handled on the actual route. Confirm ventilation and storage requirements for the proposed fruit and transport arrangement rather than applying one temperature or packaging method to every shipment.
Ask which carton and pallet markings connect the goods to the packing records. The GS1 traceability guideline provides a useful framework for linking products and lots; it does not replace the actual identification agreed for a transaction.
Record the delivery before opening cartons
- Note arrival time, vehicle or delivery reference, pallet IDs and the number of cartons received.
- Photograph the overall load and any visible crushing, wet areas or displaced cartons.
- Record instrument and measurement location for any temperature reading; distinguish a spot reading from a journey log.
- Preserve packaging and labels associated with a disputed sample.
Inspect fruit and packaging separately
Choose cartons from different positions under an agreed sampling plan. Check count and net weight, then record rind damage, firmness and visible condition. Use a separately defined cut-sample check for the flesh. Record a crushed carton even if its fruit is acceptable, and record affected fruit even when the carton looks sound.
For example, a receiving note saying “two damaged cartons” leaves the scale of the issue unclear. A better note states which cartons were examined, how many fruit were checked, the observed defects and whether the remaining consignment was inspected. Do not extrapolate a small sample into an entire-load rejection without an agreed basis.
Make follow-up evidence usable
Keep dispatch and arrival photographs, timestamps, labels, measurements and the written specification together. Separate observations from assumptions about their cause. Agree notification timing and the process for reviewing discrepancies before the shipment leaves. That makes a request for replacement, credit or further examination easier to evaluate on the available evidence.
