Pink Pomelo for Singapore: Review Pesticide Test Evidence

Read pesticide test evidence alongside the proposed pink pomelo lot. Check sample identity, test scope and the relevant Singapore requirements before a buying decision.

Sourcing pink pomelo for Singapore requires more than receiving a laboratory report with a reassuring cover page. The buyer needs to understand what was sampled, what the laboratory measured and how the result relates to the proposed fruit. A report can support a decision only within that scope; it is not a permanent approval of a supplier's entire production.

Begin with the current destination requirement

The Singapore Food Agency's import guidance requires fresh produce to comply with pesticide restrictions and applicable residue limits. It also identifies supplier laboratory results as a useful check. Consult the current SFA guidance and have the importer or qualified laboratory confirm the correct requirements for the product and substances concerned before relying on a pass statement.

This article is a purchasing workflow, not a list of legal limits or confirmation of market access for a particular shipment. Product form matters: describe the intended import accurately. Do not apply a report for another fruit or processed ingredient simply because the supplier's company name is the same.

Connect the sample to the fruit being offered

Read the sample description, submitter, collection date, receipt date and report identifier. Ask who selected the sample and how the lot was defined. Compare any batch reference with the packing records and proposed order. If there is no usable connection, record that gap and ask for clarification before treating the document as evidence for the shipment.

A photograph of the fruit beside the report can help document a sample, but it does not independently prove the whole chain. Keep the original report file and any sampling record. If authenticity is uncertain, verify the report through the laboratory's published verification process or contact details obtained independently.

Read the test scope, not only the conclusion

  • Which substances or groups were included, and which relevant substances were outside the requested test?
  • What units and reporting limits are shown for each result?
  • What sample preparation or product matrix does the report describe?
  • Which limit or decision rule was used for a compliance statement?

Ask the laboratory to explain abbreviations and whether its method and reporting capability are suitable for the requirement being checked. “Not detected” should be interpreted with the stated analytical limit; it should not be rewritten as proof of absolute absence. A broad-sounding panel name is also not a substitute for the actual list of tested substances.

Assign a clear release decision

Use a review record with three possible outcomes: sufficient evidence for the next purchasing step, clarification required, or further sampling/testing required. State who makes that decision and which documents remain outstanding. If a result needs technical interpretation, refer it to the importer and laboratory rather than changing units or thresholds to make it appear acceptable.

Keep this review alongside the lot identity, agreed specification and current import arrangements. It does not replace other applicable controls or guarantee border clearance. When enquiring with HAFAMEX, request the evidence available for the actual proposed lot; no pesticide result or certification is asserted by this guide.

Use the HAFAMEX Pink Pomelo enquiry page to ask what lot-specific supporting records are available for your importer’s review.

Continue with the pomelo packing and receiving checklist.
