Record skin development, internal appearance and the sampling date together. Treat these observations as complementary rather than allowing one attractive feature to override the rest.
Make a sweetness comparison repeatable
Where soluble solids are measured, identify the refractometer, verification procedure and juice preparation. Record results for separate sampled fruits before calculating a summary. Taste under comparable conditions and describe acidity and texture alongside perceived sweetness. A single high reading from a selected fruit is weak evidence of consistency across the pack.
Write a decision rather than a slogan
Replace “very sweet” with an agreed evaluation method and a lot-specific acceptance decision. For example, the buyer can approve a trial only after reviewing the distribution of sample readings and the tasting notes together. Any numeric acceptance limit should be explicitly agreed; it should not be copied from a different cultivar, growing area or customer programme.
Keep the order and reference sample connected
Retain the sample record with the purchase specification and identify whether dispatch will use the same lot. If the source lot changes, review the evidence again.
