Red Dragon Fruit Flesh Colour: Separate Appearance from Identity

Use cut-sample colour to assess red dragon fruit presentation while checking cultivar identity through separate lot records.

A photograph of deeply coloured flesh can help a buyer discuss appearance, but it cannot authenticate a red dragon fruit cultivar. Colour assessment and product identity should be separate parts of the purchasing brief. This prevents a visually appealing sample from becoming an unsupported claim about the shipment.

State the identity claim precisely

Record the commercial product name and any cultivar name the seller intends to declare. Ask how that declaration connects to the grower or supplier records for the offered lot. If only “red-flesh dragon fruit” is supported, keep the description at that level. Do not add a more specific cultivar because its colour looks similar to an internet photograph.

Photograph a representative cut sample

Select and identify fruit before cutting. Use the same lighting, neutral background and camera settings across samples, and avoid colour filters. Photograph the fresh cut surface with its sample code. Include normal variation rather than choosing only the darkest fruit. A digital image is useful for communication, but screen settings can change how another person sees it.

Agree the appearance decision separately

Describe the target using a controlled reference sample or agreed colour method. Record whether colour distribution is even enough for the intended use and whether unusual areas require further assessment. A buyer producing visible fruit portions may care about consistency across a tray; a whole-fruit retailer may need an internal sample check without promising an identical shade in every fruit.

Keep labels within the evidence

Approve the commercial description only after the lot records and appearance assessment have both been reviewed. If the lot changes, confirm the identity and reference again. Send HAFAMEX the required product declaration, intended use and colour reference; ask for any cultivar or origin statement to be confirmed for the actual supply rather than inferred from the cover image.
