Seedless Lime Garnish Size: Count Serviceable Slices

Choose seedless lime sizes by the slices or wedges your restaurant can actually serve, with a consistent cutting trial.

Whole and cut green limes arranged in a basket with foliage.

The largest seedless lime is not automatically the best garnish fruit. The right size depends on the glass, plate, cut pattern and service style. A purchasing trial should count the pieces that meet the presentation brief, not merely the total slices a knife can produce.

Define the finished garnish

Prepare a reference for the required wheel, half-wheel or wedge. Specify approximate dimensions and thickness where useful, and show how the piece fits the actual glass or dish. Identify unacceptable tearing, uneven pieces or other presentation failures. Keep this standard practical enough for busy staff to apply consistently.

Test a size band using the real tools

Choose representative fruit from the offered band and use the normal cutting equipment. Record fruit count, input weight and the number of serviceable garnishes. Separate end pieces and rejects from acceptable output. Time the preparation, because a shape that is attractive but slow to produce may affect service capacity.

Compare cost per usable piece

For illustration, a trial costing 12 units and producing 120 acceptable garnishes has a fruit cost of 0.10 units per garnish before labour and other costs. The example is not a price quote. If two sizes produce different numbers of acceptable pieces, compare both yield and fit rather than choosing only the lower price per kilogram.

Link the order to the approved cut

State the size definition and keep the reference photograph with the trial record. If peel stays on the served piece, include the relevant supplier declarations in the quality review. Send HAFAMEX the desired garnish format, approximate demand and preferred size band to discuss a seedless lime offer suited to the restaurant’s actual service.
