Fruit Trial Orders: Score Saleable Yield Before Reordering

Evaluate a trial order of dragon fruit, seedless limes or durian using usable output, handling effort and evidence quality.

A successful fruit trial should answer whether the product fits the buyer’s operation, not merely whether the sample looked attractive on arrival. A short scorecard helps compare white or red dragon fruit, seedless lime or a specific durian offer against the requirements of its own application.

Set pass-or-hold conditions first

Keep product identity, required documentation and safety acceptance outside a weighted preference score. A high flavour or price score must not cancel an unresolved mandatory requirement. State who can release the trial and which questions require further evidence.

Choose a few measurable outcomes

For retail fruit, track saleable quantity at the intended grade and the amount marked down. For a kitchen, measure usable flesh, juice or finished portions through the agreed process. Add preparation time and packaging performance where they materially affect the operation. Do not force unrelated products into the same yield formula.

When a trial includes pink pomelo or fresh passion fruit, retain a preparation method specific to each product. The pink pomelo usable-flesh trial separates rind, membrane and quality losses; the passion fruit pulp-yield and Brix trial distinguishes seeded pulp from strained output. Add the relevant measurements to each product’s scorecard rather than applying one generic fruit-yield target.

Compare results with the original brief

Record what was promised, what was observed and which differences matter. Use illustrative arithmetic only where its assumptions are visible. Note special circumstances such as a promotion, changed recipe or delayed receiving slot so they do not distort the supplier assessment. Keep qualitative comments beside the numbers instead of hiding them in an unexplained total score.

Make the next order a deliberate decision

Choose whether to repeat, revise the specification or run another targeted trial. A single successful lot supports a limited conclusion; continue checking subsequent deliveries against the same agreed method. Send HAFAMEX the scorecard findings and the proposed product-specific changes so the next inquiry builds on evidence rather than restarting with a generic request for “premium fruit”.
