Ri6 Durian Split Shells: Agree a Receiving Decision
Record shell separation and handling context in Ri6 durian before deciding whether a delivered fruit meets the agreed specification.
A buyer receiving Ri6 durian should not rely on the phrase “naturally opened” to resolve every split-shell question. The condition, extent of opening and intended product form matter. A whole-fruit order and a product deliberately opened under a controlled preparation process need different records.
Describe the opening before handling changes it
Photograph the whole fruit, the seam and the surrounding packaging. Record whether the separation was present at receiving or occurred during an agreed inspection. Note the extent of the opening and any exposed contents without making a safety judgement from appearance alone. Keep each observation connected to a fruit and carton reference.
Apply the agreed hold and review process
If a condition falls outside the purchase specification or raises a food-safety concern, follow the receiver’s isolation and assessment procedure. Do not taste questionable flesh to decide whether the shipment is safe. Ask the responsible quality team to assess the fruit and available handling history.
Separate sampling damage from delivered condition
When fruit is opened for inspection, document who performed the opening, when it happened and which sample was used. That record prevents an inspection cut from later being presented as a pre-existing transport defect. Conversely, do not describe a fruit already open on arrival as an inspection sample without evidence.
Clarify the rule for the next shipment
Write the whole-fruit acceptance condition, the sample-opening procedure and the notification process into the order. Do not use “ripe” as an unrestricted allowance for split fruit. Send HAFAMEX the receiving photographs, lot code and intended product form when discussing Ri6 shell condition so the issue can be evaluated on a shared factual basis.
